Enclave vs TrailblazerHave you been searching for a new SUV for your daily driver and ticket to adventure? The Buick Enclave SUV and Chevy Trailblazer SUV are two top-tier vehicles that have plenty of comforts, tech, and more. However, because they have so much going for them, it can be difficult to choose between the two. Fortunately, we’ve made this Buick Enclave vs. Chevy Trailblazer comparison guide to go over their highlights and help you decide which is the clear winner for your next new vehicle. Read on to learn more!

Buick Enclave Vs. Chevy Trailblazer: Power and Performance

The Chevy Trailblazer comes with two engine options. One is a 1.2L, 3-cylinder engine worth 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The other is a turbocharged 1.3L, 3-cylinder that delivers 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.

By comparison, the Buick Enclave is much more powerful. All trims of the Enclave share the same engine, a turbocharged 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine that makes 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. As you can see, the Buick Enclave engine has more than double the horsepower compared to the most powerful Chevy Trailblazer engine.

As far as handling is concerned, the Buick Enclave comes with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. All Chevy Trailblazer trims come with all-wheel drive. If you plan to do any off-roading, we recommend choosing an AWD option for either vehicle for the improved handling and responsiveness.

  • Buick Enclave towing capacity: Up to 5,000 lbs.
  • Chevy Trailblazer towing capacity: 1,000 lbs.
  • Buick Enclave MPG: 20 city / 27 highway
  • Chevy Trailblazer MPG: 26 city / 29 highway

It’s to be expected that all of the extra power that the Enclave has will slightly lower fuel efficiency, though its numbers are still solid. If you plan on towing anything for trips or side jobs, the Enclave is the clear winner.

Buick Enclave Vs. Chevy Trailblazer: Interior and Tech

The Chevy Trailblazer interior is finished in plastic, but one of higher quality, so it doesn’t feel cheap as the description may imply. It’s comfortable and nice enough, though chrome accents are reserved for the higher-end trims. The Buick Enclave interior immediately looks and feels as if more luxury has been poured into the details, such as the standard ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, the floating center console, and especially the infotainment screen, but we’ll get to that in just a bit. Both vehicles have available panoramic sunroofs, which is always a nice touch.

The size difference between the two vehicles will quickly become apparent. The Chevy Trailblazer’s seating caps at five passengers and only has two rows of seating. The Buick Enclave seating can accommodate up to seven passengers in the three-row design.

  • Chevy Trailblazer cargo space: 54.4 cubic feet
  • Buick Enclave cargo space: 97.5 cubic feet
  • Chevy Trailblazer size (passenger volume): 98.2 cubic feet
  • Buick Enclave size (passenger volume): 157.2 cubic feet

For tech, the Chevy Trailblazer comes equipped with an 8” cluster gauge and an 11” infotainment touchscreen with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Wi-Fi hotspot (all standard). The Buick Enclave has a stunning 30” curved screen that combines the cluster gauge and infotainment system into one large display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on this model as well, plus a wireless charging pad and a Bose 12-speaker sound system. The top Buick Enclave Avenir trim has the upgraded 16-speaker version, also by Bose. We think it’s fair to say the Enclave has a lot more going for it.

Buick Enclave Vs. Chevy Trailblazer: Safety

Both vehicles have a host of safety and driver assistance features to protect you on every ride. The Buick Enclave and Chevy Trailblazer share the same safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA): five stars. Some shared safety features include:

  • Forward collision alerts
  • Lane assist
  • Forward pedestrian braking assist
  • Follow distance indicator
  • And more.

The Enclave comes with a few extra driver assistance features that are always nice to have, including blind-zone steering assist, enhanced auto emergency braking, and reverse auto emergency braking.

Buick Enclave Vs. Chevy Trailblazer: Price

The Chevy Trailblazer starts at $23,000 MSRP, and the Buick Enclave price starts at $46,200. Now thats a big jump in price, and credit where its due, the Chevy Trailblazer offers a lot of comforts and reliability, though compared to the Buick Enclave, its sorely lacking. The Enclave is much larger, more powerful, and luxurious, so the price reflects that. Buick Enclave Vs. Chevy Trailblazer: Final Thoughts

The Trailblazer is an affordable machine that will do its job well, but it doesnt have a lot of power, so off-roading anywhere in South Carolina is pretty limited. The Buick Enclave provides plenty of power, performance, and luxury amenities to make every ride more comfortable and fun. Interested in the 2026 Buick Enclave?
